随着国企改革，国家在公务机应用、支线和通航机场等领域允许民间资本加入以及国家对低空的逐渐开放，使我国包括民航和通航在内的整个航空租赁业快速崛起。在我国航空金融市场中，外资公司一直占据垄断地位。上海自贸区的成立给航空金融业带来了前所未有的契机。虽然政策才初露端倪，但从市场表现来看，已经对国内外航空租赁业产生了不小的影响，多个以航空租赁或保险为主业的金融公司落户自贸区。国内航空金融业期冀借助上海自贸区内的优惠政策扭转这一颓势。
